President's Message

Leadership in Transition: Ensuring a Bright Future for HARC

Reflecting on my time as president, I can honestly say it’s been an incredible journey. We’ve faced many challenges together and some significant changes along the way. But through it all, I’ve truly enjoyed being part of such a dedicated community, and I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished together.

However, as a club, it’s time to think about the future. To keep our momentum going, we need fresh ideas and new energy on the executive team. One of the most important things we can do now is begin planning for leadership succession to ensure the club continues to thrive.

It’s been a privilege to be part of one of North America’s longest-running amateur radio clubs, and I’ve loved being involved in projects that brought us all closer together. Now, we need to start thinking about who will take the reins next to help the club continue growing and evolving.

If you’ve ever considered stepping into a leadership role or contributing to the executive team, I encourage you to reach out. Let’s chat about your ideas and what you’d like to see for the future of HARC. We have a fantastic group of new members, and with our upcoming in-person course this fall, there could very well be a future leader among them.

As we approach our AGM and upcoming elections, let’s work together to ensure we’re building a strong foundation for the next generation of leaders to guide this club forward.

Respectfully submitted: John Bignell, VE1JMB – PRESIDENT- HARC
