I trust you’re all doing well and soaking up the fresh energy that comes with the onset of spring. As we gear up for the coming months, I’m excited to share some updates and upcoming events that will pique your interest.

Firstly, mark your calendars for two noteworthy occasions. On the anniversary of the Moose River Gold mining disaster, we’ll commemorate this significant event with an activation at Moose River. It’s a poignant moment in our province’s history, and our participation underscores the vital role amateur radio plays in preserving and honouring our past. Additionally, our annual Field Day is just around the corner, scheduled for the end of June. It’s an opportunity for us to come together, test our skills, and strengthen the bonds of our community.

I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Clayton Moore VE1MJF and our response team for their exceptional dedication and meticulous planning. Their efforts ensure that our events run smoothly and are enjoyed by all.

In the spirit of collaboration and shared responsibility, I must also highlight the need for assistance with our membership chair position. Currently, we have individuals juggling multiple roles within the executive, which can be taxing. By distributing the workload more evenly, we can ensure that everyone’s contributions are valued and sustainable.
