HARC Amateur Radio Basic Course – Fall 2026

Interested in becoming an Amateur Radio operator?

The Halifax Amateur Radio Club (HARC) is offering an in-person Basic Qualification Course this fall. The course is intended for anyone interested in earning their Canadian Amateur Radio Basic Qualification. No previous radio or technical experience is required.

Course Dates: September 26 to December 5, 2026
Classes: Saturdays, 9:00 a.m. to approximately 1:00 p.m.
Some sessions may run until approximately 2:00 p.m.

Course Fee: $30

Study Guide

Students will need a current Amateur Radio Basic Qualification study guide.

HARC has a limited number of Coax Publications 9th Edition Basic Qualification Study Guides available to course participants for $55.

An alternative is the Radio Amateurs of Canada (RAC) Basic Qualification Study Guide, which can be purchased directly from RAC or through retailers such as Amazon.

The course concludes with the ISED Basic Qualification examination on December 5, 2026.
