On behalf of the Planning Committee

On behalf of the Planning Committee, I would like to thank everyone who attended the Halifax Amateur Radio Club’s 90th anniversary celebration and to also thank the Radio Amateurs of Canada for co-hosting the event.  The conference was a success due to the many volunteers who graciously gave of their time and energy.

A special thank you is also extended to Jason Tremblay and Phil McBride from the Radio Amateurs of Canada for helping with the audio/visual system and live streaming to RAC’s YouTube channel.  All the presentations are archived on their YouTube channel and are accessible via the RAC.ca website.

After the final presentation on Sunday, August 20, 2023, the three door prizes were drawn for.  We asked Dick Grantham VE1AI to draw the lucky names.  Here are the results:

1st Prize for the Yaesu FT70DR Handheld transceiver went to JENNIFER RICHARDSON (wife of Ed Richardson VE4VT, the RAC Midwest Director);

2nd Prize for the Arrow II Leo Antenna went to RALPH ROSERE VE1RAR, one of our very own HARC members; and

3rd Prize for the Yaesu FT65R Handheld transceiver went to ARRL President RICK RODERICK K5UR

A separate email will be sent to notify each winner and to arrange delivery.

Once again, thank you to everyone who attended and for the invaluable help of those who participated in the setup and tear down of the conference site.

Ritchie Long, VE1RPL/VE1RL
