HMCS Sackville on the air at sea
It was a historic moment when HMCS Sackville was on the air at sea during the cold move.
The wireless offices in the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, operated by HARC member Bill Dyer, VE1WPS, and CSS Acadia, HARC member and HMCS Sackville Life Trustee Ken Aspry, VE1PDL, were manned and contacted. HARC Member and HMCS Sackville Trustee Brent Chaulk, VE1ET, operating Sackville’s radio, also made a Parks on the Air Activation with 12 contacts in Canada and the US using SSB (Voice) on 20 metres, despite the poor conditions due to solar activity.
