Mug Presentation on HMCS Sackville
Ken and Bruce are Life Members of the Trust who were part of the team who installed our Amateur Radio Station, VE0CNM, along with Trustee Byron Mullet and HARC member Dick Grantham, now deceased. Steve Albert is an Annual Member who has operated our radio many times with hundreds of contacts and has taken on the task of uploading our radio logs to the appropriate international sites, including Parks on the Air (POTA) and Historic Ships on the Air. Since inception in 2023, our station has contacted in excess of seven hundred radio operators all over Europe, South America and Russia and the US. Each of these contacts have received a QSL Card acknowledging the contact, also enclosed. We have received many QSL cards as well. The mugs were presented to acknowledge the exceptional support of these Trustees to Sackville and VE0CNM. Sackville is a member of Radio Amateurs of Canada and Straight Key Club of Canada (SKCC). September is Straight Key Month and VE0CNM will be participating in this Morse Code, also known as CW (Continuous Wave) event from 9 to 16 September, hosting onboard several Radio Amateurs from USA. Sackville is also participating in Maritime Heritage Festival 13/14 September in association with the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic. There, we are planning to interact with the public with Morse Code using Signal Lamps (flashing light), and our practice Morse Key.
