Summer Parks on the Air event
In celebration of Canada Parks Day and Support Your Parks Day on Saturday, the Halifax Amateur Radio Club is pleased to be participating for the 3rd year in a row by visiting George’s Island, a federal park and a National Historic Site, for the summer Parks on the Air event! We will be bringing our radio equipment by boat over to the island and operating under the standard POTA rules. This is a celebration of the natural coastal beauty of Nova Scotia, a chance to play with our radios in new and exciting places, and an opportunity to build international good will by bringing attention to the spaces in our communities that centre nature and our history.
You do not need to be on an island, or even in a park, to participate in this event! Just get on the air in whatever you way you choose, or visit your local parks and historic sites to enjoy and learn more about your community.
