The HARC 2 Metre Crossword Winter Event is a ham radio contest primarily designed to give 2-meter operators a chance to compete on an even basis and have fun doing it. Contacts are limited to FM repeaters on the 2-meter band.

When - Saturday, February 6, 2021, and runs for 4 hours, beginning at 12:00 PM local time (1600 UTC).

SSTV Instructions:

1. Tune your 2 Metre antenna to the SSTV frequency, Print the image, then solve the crossword puzzle using a pencil and the clues featured below. Remember that all the words are HARC or amateur radio related in some way. Use of Google to help find the answers is permitted. It may be a learning experience.
2.  Using the solved puzzle, write out ONLY the letters contained in shaded boxes (order from left to right, then top to bottom) to discover the hidden message. Send that message to VE1JMB@johnbignell.ca with the subject "Crossword".

Online Instructions:

City or Town - This is simply the name of the city or town you are operating from. If you do not live within the city limits, use the name of the town or municipality to which mail or a package would be addressed.

Suggested frequencies: Simplex Frequency of 145.610 for SSTV and use VE1PKT (146.685), VE1CND (146.970), VE1PSR (147.270) for Voice.
