We have access to a T1 network connection. Control and audio signals are sent/received via telephone wire pairs to the Killam Library Building sub-roof that is about 3000 feet away, by wire.

The IRLP UHF link radio equipment, located on a shelf in the sub-roof of the Killam Library building, consists ofa GE Exec II UHF radio feeding a homemade 6 element UHF Yagi mounted on the roof about 35 feet away. The audio signals sent between the computer and the radio, are balanced to 600 ohms on the telephone pairs.![]()

The IRLP node is linked to the VE1HNS repeater site atop Geizer's Hill in Halifax. The IRLP link is received on another GE Exec II UHF radio and is connected with the VHF repeater fulltime. There is also a port to the Maritime Amateur Voice Communications system (MAVCOM) that enables the inter-connection of IRLP with our terrestrial linking system.
