PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE for January 2023
I am writing to express my gratitude and appreciation for the hard work and dedication of our outgoing president, Brian, and the rest of the executive team at the Halifax Amateur Radio Club. It has been a challenging year, with the added difficulties brought on by COVID-19 restrictions, and yet you have all worked tirelessly to ensure that our club continued to function and thrive. Your leadership and guidance have been invaluable, and I am grateful for your commitment to the club and its members. Thank you for your service and all you have done for the Halifax Amateur Radio Club.
Ham radio is constantly evolving, and our amateur radio club needs to stay current to stay relevant and successful. With a new executive board in place and a plan for the coming year, we are well-equipped to navigate the changes and challenges that lie ahead. We have a strong foundation of success to build upon, and I am excited to see what the future holds for our club. As we move forward, it is essential that we stay open to new ideas and technologies, and adapt to the changing landscape of ham radio. By embracing change and working together, we can achieve great things and continue to be a vital and active part of the Maritime Ham radio community.
It is shaping to be an exciting year for the Halifax Amateur Radio Club, with several exciting projects and events on the horizon.
First and foremost, we plan to host several build-a-thons, where members can come together to work on various projects and learn new radio skills. In addition, we will be participating in contesting events at the station, which is always a thrilling and competitive experience. This spring, we are also looking forward to Field Day 2023, which is always our club’s highlight of the year. Finally, we are gearing up to celebrate our 90th anniversary with a special conference and celebration. There is no shortage of exciting events and projects on the horizon, and I can’t wait to see what the coming year has in store for our club and its members. 2023 is shaping to be an exciting time to be a member of one of the oldest clubs in North America and part of its long successful history.
Just wondering when the annual 2023 Halifax Radio Fleamarket is scheduled for and its location so I can put this info on the Old Timers Club website… thanks. ~73 de VE1CHI, Jim C., OTC Webguy.
We are working on some of those details now as we prepare for the 90th Anniversary Celebration this summer.
I am trying to purchase early bird tickets for the event but keep getting told I must agree to certain terms and conditions. Meanwhile I can see no indication of where these are or where I can agree with them.
